It’s been a big week of new releases, so it’s a massive week of brand-new additions to Melbourne’s most uplifting music mix.

Troye Sivan has announced the forthcoming release of In a Dream, a six-track EP about an “emotional rollercoaster period” in the Aussie singer-songwriter’s life. Ahead of its release on 21 August comes ‘Easy’, a song written to steer a relationship back on course. This out-and-proud favourite keeps churning out the bops and this track is no exception!

Were you a fan of Maddy & Aimee driving you home on JOY? We were, and we’re even bigger fans of Maddy’s music under the guise of GENES. Now in Townsville, the out-and-proud singer-songwriter has released ‘Better’, which she wrote to lift herself up after a breakup. We reckon you’ll be feeling the love. It’s yet another pop gem for this legend and we’re here for it.

The journey from addiction to recovery is the focus of the newest release from CXLOE. The Sydney singer’s eighth single is ’12 Steps’, which sees the story of addiction being told in a very different way. While addiction seeks to mask pain, we’re reminded that there’s help just a few steps away. If you need some help yourself, head to joy.org.au/support.

Combine Tina Turner‘s 1984 #1 smash, ‘What’s Love Got to Do With It’, with the skills of Norwegian DJ-producer Kygo and you’ve got a banger. There’s not much else to say: start dancing!

Melbourne-born rapper Illy continues his journey towards an even more melodic sound with the release of ‘Loose Ends’. He teams up with out-and-proud singer G Flip to deliver a song with just the right mix of song and spoken word. Give this one a couple of listens and we think you’ll be hooked.

It’s been two years since we last heard from Aussie legend Tommy Trash. To make sure you know he’s back, Tommy’s dropped the aptly named ‘So Long’, and the classically trained musician is showing off all his melody-making skills in it. Singer-songwriter Thief (who you can thank for such bops as Jess Mauboy’s ‘Fallin’ and Guy Sebastian’s ‘Bloodstone’) delivers some smooth vocals that effortlessly weave themselves into the uplifting EDM-pop instrumental. Welcome back, Tommy!

Someone who hasn’t gone anywhere is much -oved singer-songwriter-coach-streaming-superstar Delta Goodrem. Having just finished up on another season of The Voice Australia and taking her place as the series’ longest-serving coach, Delta has dropped ‘Paralyzed’. It’s no ‘Wings’-esque shower, but it’s certainly one of Delta’s best growers. There’s no doubt you’ll be singing along to it if you head on down to one of the shows in her ‘Bridge Over Troubled Dreams’ tour next year. Keep listening and we think it’ll grow on you too.

London-based Dutch DJ-producer Jack Wins has let us know that he’s looking forward to taking a walk in the park as restrictions ease in his part of the world. While you take a walk around the block, perhaps ‘Killed Me With Love’ could be playing in your ears. It’s a slice of 90s house, wrapped up in a clap-along rhythm section, and topped off with big vocals from LA-based singer Francci Richard. We reckon it’s a banger you’ll be loving.
