We’re painting the airwaves rainbow this week as we celebrate our 27th birthday.

On Friday, Japanese-British singer-songwriter Rina Sawayama will be celebrating the success of her debut self-titled album by releasing a deluxe version with an extra disc. The first single from this second CD is ‘LUCID’, produced by BloodPop. The bisexual-pansexual singer has turned the banger dial up to extreme with this one, and we reckon you’ll be dialling up your dancing in response.

British group Steps have been all over the Australian media since the release of their sixth studio album, What the Future Holds, last week. ‘To the Beat of My Heart’ is the third single from the album and channels the feel-good sounds that Claire, Faye, Lee, Lisa and out-and-proud H are famous for.

Hong Kong-born, Melbourne-based Summer Luk has just dropped a remix that will take you back 40 years. ‘Masterpiece (80s Remix)’ is the latest from the transgender singer-songwriter and is lifted from her forthcoming debut album.  It’s full of synthy goodness and the perfect addition to your workday.

Bright Light Bright Light has released the fourth single from his latest album, Fun City. ‘Good at Goodbyes’ has the gay Welsh singer-songwriter teaming up with Andy Bell, who you’ll know best as the lead singer of English group Erasure. This song is all about the love you’re not quite ready to say goodbye to – and we think you’ll want to be holding on to this song as long as you can.

Self-described ‘queercore recording artist’ Willing has wound up a year of single releases with his second EP, Pure Romance. The Melbourne-based singer-songwriter has wrangled tracks from opposite ends of the musical spectrum for the album, and ‘Soft Touch’ is one of them. Already a beautiful track, it’s been given a dance lift thanks to fellow Melburnian Lighthouser.

English DJ-producer Nathan Dawe found musical success this year with his second single, ‘Lighter’. The follow-up is ‘No Time for Tears’, a house banger that we think will hit the mark. It’s made even more perfect thanks to vocals from British girl group Little Mix and is an instant singalong bop, ready for summer.
