Animals in the Arts

Could you imagine Wind in the Willows without Mr Toad? Annie without Sandy? Or the Peanuts cartoons without Snoopy or Woodstock? For centuries animals have featured in the arts. From books to paintings, plays to movies, animals have featured in some of our most treasured and well known works.

In this edition of Pets-A-Loud we will be taking a look at the role animals have played in the arts. Also on the show:

  • We look at the role animals have played in the arts throughout history.
  • Photographer JP Miller comes in to talk to us about his exhibition Jaguar: A photographic exhibition.
  • Animals have featured in literature for hundreds of years. We look at our top five books which feature animals.
