/ Saturday Sessions / Music / Misdsumma – Kaliope Stavropoulos “Goddess Grooves”

Kaliope Stavropoulos joined Pete, Dylan and Judy to chat about her upcoming involvement in “Goddess Grooves” as part of Midsumma Festival. Kaliope was an absolute delight to have in-studio and also belted out a heartfelt live blues song, ably assisted by her “back-up singer” Sage (pictured below)

Goddess Grooves has been Midsumma’s premiere women’s music event for over 14 years, presenting a variety of artists and styles at different venues across Melbourne. This year, join us for another unique and diverse line-up, all on stage together at once. Get inspired by Jo Jo Smith’s fusion of soul, funk and jazz as she takes you on a lyrical and captivating journey. Be touched by Michelle Parson’s honesty and insight, with songs that will have you singing long after you’ve left the venue. Be transported by the talent of Michelle Chandler and her authentic song-writing that crosses many genres. Be moved by the powerful storytelling and pure voice of Ruth Katerelos, and blown away by the amazing guitar work of Monique Kenny. Be awed by Kaliope Stavropoulos, a multi-instrumentalist whose music incorporates elements of rock, blues, soul, R & B and more. These artists will entertain and engage you with original tunes and covers, supporting each other’s songs and adding harmony magic. Come and join us at the Wesley Anne for a great night out. Grab dinner and a drink with friends while you listen to some of our communities finest. Don’t miss it!

Goddess Grooves is on at Wesley Anne, High St Northcote on 1st February 2019 at 7.30
