Together, only a day after the passing of icon David Bowie ,they pay Tribute to the artist, The Thin White Duke, the Messenger of Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes..the man of Sound and Vision who died suddenly on Monday the 10th of January 2016, just 2 days after the release of what was to be his ‘Requiem’ album and last album : Blackstar.

‘Bowie’s passing was announced in a statement on his official website that read: “David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief.” The news was confirmed on Twitter by Bowie’s son, director Duncan Jones, who just finished the movie Warcraft.

Almost immediately after the news broke, social media became flooded with tributes to Bowie from everyone from Neil Gaiman to the Golden Globes’ host Ricky Gervais to “Weird Al” Yankovic. One of the most influential rock stars of his generation—or any generation—Bowie had just released his 28th album, Blackstar, earlier this month.’ From Wired, dated 11th Jan 2016.

‘About a week before his death, with Blackstar nearing release, David Bowie called his longtime friend and producer Tony Visconti via FaceTime, and told him he wanted to make one more album. In what turned out to have been the final weeks of his life, Bowie wrote and demo-ed five fresh songs, and was anxious to return to the studio one last time. Bowie had known since November that his cancer was terminal, according to Visconti, but if their final conversation was any indication, he had no idea he had so little time left. “At that late stage, he was planning the follow-up to Blackstar,” says Visconti.’

To satiate those eager to see all of program in one sitting, the entire series will be available via SBS On Demand immediately following its premiere.

The innovative new Australian comedy The Wizards of Aus will air over three nights from Tuesday January 19 – Thursday 21 January 2016 at 8.30pm on SBS 2. The entire series will also be available early on SBS On Demand straight after the first episode airs.’
