Haydn in Studio 1

Haydn talks about the comics and graphic novels that the queer meet up group have looked at including Virgil by Steve Orlando :’Virgil was always a strong statement. It’s an outed cop, out on the street for revenge, who’s not leaving town without his man and some blood on his hands.’

Steve Orlando on his comic Virgil: Looking at what we talked about above, the balance comes from the idea that the story itself doesn’t treat its queer characters any differently than any others. So, the balance of sex, politics, violence, we try to emulate the balance from a story like “Shaft,” or “Django [Unchained],” the stories that inspired us to create a queer-focused take on the genre. It’s exploitation, it’s bold, and we’re confident about the presentation these things. Like with the inspiration, we are unashamed, we are uncompromising in the queer content.’ an excerpt from comicbookresources.com

Sonja also has an interview with film maker Ivan Sen and actor Aaron Pedersen from Goldstone now out at selected cinemas. This Outback Noir thriller is highly accomplished, stylish and sobering and a great creative feat for Indigenous film artist and composer Ivan Sen and his collaboration with Aaron Pederesen.
