Mel, Kylie, Michelle and Clayton

This week, SUS talked about education from both an LGBTI and an ally perspective. What is lacking? What is successful? and What are the unique challenges?

Michelle was joined in the studio by three teachers. First up we had Mel, a secondary school teacher who now works with The Safe Schools Coalition. Next, Kylie was in to talk about her experiences as a teacher and the mother of a primary school aged transgirl. To round up the teaching team was Michelle’s co-host Clayton, a primary school teacher and advocate for inclusive and appropriate sexual education.

The experiences shared were varied but with common themes. Kylie’s discussion of her experiences of being the mother of Bella is an absolute highlight.
