Dirk Hoult talked to the Sunday Arts Magazine team about We Were There, a show that he conceived and developed with Gavin Roach. It is a new piece of verbatim theatre with a unique perspective of HIV and AIDS that tells Australian stories by Australian women.
We Were There explores the real lives and untold stories of the sisters, mothers, wives, friends, volunteers and medical professionals who cared for those living with HIV and AIDS in the 80s and 90s and speaks to those living with the virus today.
We Were There is part of the 2018 Midsumma Festival at Chapel Off Chapel from 23 January to 4 February, 2018.
