Safe Schools are safe in Victoria!

The Victorian Minister for Education, James Merlino, has written to his Federal counterpart to affirm his support for the Safe Schools Program in its current form.

Meanwhile, the Australian Christian Lobby has a petition before the Queensland Parliament requesting the Queensland government restrict the program in that state. We spoke to Michael James who has put up a counter-petition to support Safe Schools in Queensland.

And in other education news, a Catholic school in Melbourne has forced its Year 9 students to remove pages from a Health textbook that addressed premarital sex and homosexuality. The book was prepared using a service called Flexibooks that enables teachers to build their own textbooks by choosing which chapters to include from resources published by Macmillan Education.

James Findlay also speaks to Ben Kelly from Attitude Magazine to find out the latest news in the UK and Europe.
