State Budget 2016-2017 LGBTI Community Response

State Budget 2016-2017

Today the Andrews Labor Government lifted the lid on the pot of gold at the end of Victoria’s LGBTI Rainbow.  It turns out that last week’s announcement of a $15m Pride Centre was just a teaser with today’s 2016-17 State Budget revealing nearly $30m of targeted initiatives for LGBTI communities. So just what do our LGBTI Community leaders think of the rivers of gold?

For their analysis of the budget and its impact on LGBTI Victorians, The Informer speaks to Anna Brown who heads the LGBTI Rights Unit at the Human Rights Law Centre and is a former convener of the VGLRL , Trans advocate Sally Goldner and CEO of Minus 18, Micah Scott. What do the Liberal opposition think of today’s budget?  The Shadow Minister for Equality the Hon. David Davis also joins the program.
