Leave the big smoke, get Out in the Open – Shepparton & Bendigo

Arts, Health, Local, News & Politics, Non-Profit, Performing Arts, Regional, Sexuality, Society & Culture

farm-guyThe Informer travels into regional Victoria, firstly to Shepparton and then to Bendigo, things happen outside of our major cities, sometimes inspiring things.

Goulburn Valley Pride is based in Shepparton and the upcoming OUTintheOPEN Festival is on again from the 3rd to 6th of November. Festival director Damien Stevens joins us on The Informer to tell us what’s in store.

Jakob Quilligan tells us about FAB CV , a volunteer run organisation in Bendigo that brings GLBTIQ people together with monthly events to help us realise that we’re not the only gay in the village and to break down feelings of isolation.

And, Harry McAnulty, program co-ordinator of VACountry in Bendigo tells us about this new VAC service and the things that are offered to those outside of Melbourne – support and services that we take for granted in the city – important stuff.
