Colombo Pride, UN critiques Australia’s trans laws, the Commonwealth recognizes LGBTI groups and drama at the NSW GLRL

Shannon Power is your host on this episode of the Informer as she goes around the world on LGBTI Issues.

Sally Goldner from TransGender Victoria talks about the potential impact of a historic UN ruling criticizing Australia’s policy forcing trans people to get divorced before they can change their sex on their birth certificates.

Next up we head to Sri Lanka. Colombo Pride in Sri Lanka has had one its most successful seasons ever. We hear from EQUAL GROUND‘s executive director Rosanna Flamer-Calder about the progress being made on LGBTI issues in Sri Lanka.
Rosanna will also talk about the landmark decision by the Commonwealth to give official accreditation to a coalition of LGBTI networks in the Commonwealth.

Finally The Informer has an exclusive chat with the outgoing co-convenor of the NSW Gay and Lesbian Rights Lobby. Chris Pycroft explains what prompted his shock resignation.
