The GLOBE Community Awards recognise the inspiring work in Victoria’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex communities.Individual and team sports are essential element of a healthy community. From keeping fit to being a role model, sports people represent an important element of the LGBTI community. The ‘Sports Person of the Year’ Award recognises individual excellence in sports and as a role model for the community and this year’s winner is Meredith ‘Maxi’ Williams from the Melbourne Argonauts.

GLOBE stands for Gay & Lesbian Organisation of Business & Enterprise and is Victoria’s professional, business, social and community networking organisation for the LGBTI community. Their aim is to further career and business opportunities in Victoria through networking, development and engagement with the broader community.
