Special report: does Partner 2 mean u=u is finally mainstream?

The Partner 2 study was released last year but broke into the mainstream media just a week ago. Involving 76,000 couples the study confirmed a decade of research that HIV transmission within couples when one is on retro-viral treatment is almost impossible.

So where to from here? We spoke to Professor Jens Lundgren, Professor in Infectious Diseases at Rigshospitalet, University of Copenhagen and co-Principal Investigator on Partner 2 and Professor Jenny Hoy, Director of HIV Medicine at Alfred Health about the study’s research implications.

And we spoke to Nic Holas from the Institute of Many, Cath Smith from Positive Women, HIV and LGBTIQ+ rights activist Steve Spencer, and international HIV activist and Mr Gay New Zealand 2017 Charlie Treadway about stigma, discrimination, and how we spread the u=u message.
