The One With the Creative Alabama Blonde

The team is joined by Miss Poppie from ‘The Woods on JOY’ and well as Miranda Sparks from ‘Genda Agenda on JOY’ as we are introduced to Alabama Blonde.  Alabama Blonde is a designer, creative director, musician and artist currently living and working in Melbourne, Australia. She has watched the Addams Family at least a thousand times, owes Siouxsie Sioux her first born and learned to dance via old Iggy and the Stooges videos. Alabama continues to make waves in the Australian market by pushing boundaries and establishing themselves as brands that are constantly exploring identity, freedom & expression.

Alabama’s work lends itself towards an exploration of identity, rituals and human experience. Recently her work has asked the question ‘Can we embed emotion into fabric?’ Articulating the juxtaposition of extreme constriction vs extreme release via an exploration of both materiality and emotion.

*** We know that sometimes it can be hard to know who to talk to if you are experiencing a mental health crisis. If you do not have family and friends living nearby or a strong local support network it can be hard to get through difficult times on your own. Whether you are in a crisis or you just feel down and need to talk to someone, it is important to know that help is available at all hours of the day and night.

There are many free mental health hotlines and mental health online support services across Victoria, which provide crisis support, information, resources, counselling and therapy to people of all ages.
