Rowan speaks with Rachael Masters, who has found herself providing mental health peer support to fellow members of the TGD and LGBTIQ+ communities in Adelaide. Rachael would love to see more peer support organisations around Australia.

For those in Adelaide, Rachael recommends Kindred Spirits, Carousel Club and Gendasa.

Anastasia shares the exciting news that Sexpo has become more welcoming of the trans and gender diverse community, and women more generally. She had some fun there with glitter!

Don’t forget these events coming up for Trans Day of Remembrance: Trans Day of Remembrance Vigil (Melbourne, Nov 20) and Transgender Day of Remembrance Ceremony & Bridge Viewing (Brisbane, Nov 20).

Sandra Pankurst – the subject of ‘The Trauma Cleaner’ book and a transwoman – is speaking at an Australian True Crime Podcast event on Saturday 23 November.

Hares & Hyenas is hosting the Iridescent Festival for Transgender & Gender Diverse QPoC.

And we ask that you consider supporting our JOY Nation campaign.

Mish and Miranda chat with Mayor Steve Stefanopoulos about the City of Stonnington’s Night of Pride fundraiser for the Victorian Pride Centre.

We mourn the news of Mhelody Polan Bruno’s murder.

And we remind everyone about the importance of self care. Such as …

Playing with Mattel’s new range of gender-neutral dolls. Or dressing up as Electra Woman and Dyna Girl for Halloween! Or Thanksgiving celebrations.

We are disappointed with the latest fake news.

And delight in the success of trans women actors M J Rodriguez and Alexandra Billings.

UPDATE: There have been more updated information on Compassion VietNam’s progress and a slight amendment to make

  1. Their Centre will be relocated to a new facility, which Compassion Vietnam (CVI) will be paying for rent and utilities.
  2. Compassion VietNam is not a school due to the complexity of Viet Nam’s legal system. It is a not for profit organisation that provides a learning centre to prepare the kids for state school.
  3. CVI is yet to provide meals made on premise for the children. The donation is currently used to purchase food from vendors.

Its a new year and talk all about balance amongst the team. Bowie and Zay talk about sleep and health and how they have their own combine relationshiop name similiar to ‘Brangelina’, and somehow they finish each others sentences. But we also get some advice on how sleep is so important to your health as well as discipline. Zay suggested waking up and being cheerful to jumpstart the day but Mish isn’t so sure because she will probably be naked still while making a cup of coffee. The team also cover toxic feminity and masculinity from friends and family in our lives and how gender roles are forced upon our lives.

Since her transition, she has been the subject of controversy over her eligibility to take part in women’s competitions and took time out of her busy schedule to sit down with Mama Mish over a cuppa to talk about dealing with the media and sport as a transgender woman and also where life might take her after football.
