We end the year with a cracker! I am joined again by Anne Hunter and James Dominguez, both pioneers and well-known advocates in the Bisexual and Polyamory communities in Melbourne, and no strangers to Triple Bi-Pass show. This episode looks closely at the changing dynamics and nuanced structures in poly relationships as they develop and change over time. Anne and James join me to grapple with questions like, what happens if your partner finds a new partner and you end up getting along better with them than your partner does, what happens when metamours do not get along, what happens when the ‘hinge’ person makes promises they can’t keep, how do we cope with change in polyamorous relationships, what are the rules, what are others doing? Download this podcast and find out! Finally, on behalf of everyone here at Triple Bi-Pass, I want to thank all of my guests who have supported this podcast throughout 2019. It has been my absolute pleasure to make poly discussions more accessible to our community. It has felt risky at times because being more visible can subject us to much criticism and ridicule, but those of us who are bisexual and polyamorous, our partners, and those who support us deserve great respect and admiration for challenging practices and structures that limit our potential to live and love more fully and in ways that makes sense to us. I hope to bring you more episodes in 2020. With the deepest of love and gratitude, Anthony Lekkas.

On this Bi-Polycast Anthony talks to mental health social worker and relationship therapist Tracey from Orana Health Services about providing relationship counselling to poly and queer people.

Tracey explains why some poly people may access her services for navigating through the complexities of poly relationship tensions. Tracey and Anthony highlight the importance for relationship therapists to scrutinise the social, cultural and political structures where poly relationships are formed, as opposed to simply offering targeted interventions to the individuals in poly relationships. Tracey has over twenty years experience and training as a health professional assisting individuals, couples, families (different relationships and families including rainbow and polyamorous) with a range of needs around emotional and psychological distress, bringing an empathetic, non-judgmental and compassionate approach to the therapeutic relationship.

Why are they important? What happens when they are broken? Anne discusses how agreements in poly relationships become a conversation between more than two people negotiating different needs in terms of sex, sexual health, safety, favourite places, sacred spaces amongst the needs of different people, different genders, different personalities, different cultures and relationship histories. Sound easy?Anne describes how this complicated web of needs and feelings can result in beautiful processes where partners are invited into negotiations so that everyone’s feelings matter and are taken seriously.

This week, we’re full up with guests, with a wonderful topic to discuss that is close to our hearts <3
We’re joined in the studio this week by Louis, Andrew, Ruby and Miranda from Geeks Out (Our beautiful neighboring show) to talk about our experiences as queer individuals and role playing games.
Most of our shared experience falls under playing Dungeons & Dragons, a tabletop role playing game centering around creating a character which you role play through a variety of scenarios refereed and managed by a single person, or ‘dungeon master’. The opportunity to create, explore and collaborate in a safe environment is understandably very desirable to a lot of us, so tune in and see what we have to say about role playing!

Anne takes us back to where it all began for her as polyamorous and explains the early beginnings of Poly Vic, now a well-known and regularly attended discussion and support space for poly people and their allies. Anne talks about how in the early 1990s her journey into what she wanted took her beyond monogamy and into the exciting new territory of multiple ethical relationships. Anne shares a variety of poly specific experiences, such as other people’s reactions to you when you ‘come out’ as poly, some of the common misconceptions about polyamory, the importance of accessing support from other poly people, and why polyamory and ethical non-monogamy are becoming more and more common options for relationships.

It’s Triple Bi-Pass’ second birthday! It’s been such an amazing journey so far, and as we learn more, grow, and get to know more about our wonderful audience, we’re reminded of why we do the show.

Multi-gender attracted groups and communities are really special, and it’s our privilege to support and amplify our voices and experiences. We’ve received so many lovely messages from people writing in about what the show means to them, and we can’t wait to bring you even more!
Here’s looking at you, our amazing listeners <3

Thank you for such an amazing response to Radiothon! It’s still going on, so consider signing up to help support queer communities and help us keep bringing you amazing shows!
Ruby talks to us about some of the multi gender attracted news, including some news from the UN secretory general and some of the initiatives that our previous guest Ro Allen talked to us about. It’s also Pride! So hope all you lovelies all have a great time, and also on the anniversary of Stonewall, remember that the first brick thrown was by a Trans woman of color, and we owe a massive amount to Marsha P Johnson.

We’re joined this week by Joanna Williams, an amazing sex educator, advocate and activist. We talk about the sexual spectrum, gatekeeping and some of the issues that people who do not experience sexual attraction deal with. Jo Also talks to us about the importance of creating a platform specifically for young people to learn about sex, and why queer inclusive sex education is needed. We’ll be talking about Bits and Bods, the upcoming web series that talks to teens about sex, bodies, relationships and all the awkward bits in between. Check out their latest trailer!!

We’re so luck to be able to do this show and YOU make it all possible. You can sign up for a Joy membership here, and every bit helps us produce the amazing content and bring you shows like this. Love you all! <3
