Triple X – Show 358 – 7/1/18 – Change of Heart – ABBA/Santana/Eurythmics/The B52’s/Lou Reed & David Bowie/ 1985 Aussie 8 Pack & More

Show 358

Dancing Queen. Request.

Right Now by Santana. Request. 1985

Shame by Eurythmics. 1987 single from Savage, their 6th studio album.

+Strobe Light by The B52s. From 1980s Wild Planet, their second studio album, which, like their first, was recorded in the Bahamas.  This one was slicker than their eponymous first album and contained their first use of the electronic drums.

+My Heart goes Bang (Get me to the doctor) by Dead or Alive. Sounding just like DOA sounds…all the time. Lovely 80s sound…but always the same. 1985 single from Youthquake, their second, the same album that contained You Spin Me Round…I wonder if it all sounds like this?

+Dirty Boulevard by Lou Reed & David Bowie. This was a request about 4 years ago and I haven’t played it since.

You Belong to Me by Carly Simon.  From her 7th studio album, Boys in Trees, released in 1978. Left over from the yacht rock show.

Seether by Veruca Salt. Request. 1994

Oh Patti by Scritti Politi. 1988 track on their third studio album, Provision. It features Miles Davis on trumpet.

All I Want to Do by UB40. English reggae/pop bad formed in 1978, but their classic line up wasn’t solidified till March 1979…and they stayed together till Jan 2008. This is from their 7th studio album, Rat in the Kitchen, from 1986.

Aussies 1985

*Celebrate Youth by Rick Springfield. From his 1985 album, Tao, his 10th studio album. The single reached 26 on the US charts.

*Best of Both Worlds by Midnight Oil.  Their only single released in 1985.  It came from the album, Red Sails in the Sunset, which came out the year before.

*Ode to Nothing by The Lighthouse Keepers. Another Sydney band from the 1980s, formed in 1981. This is a 1985 single

*Tears me in Two by The Stems.  1985 single from this indie band from Perth.

*Man With Two Hearts by Men at Work. First track on their 1985 album, which was their third and last album.  Written by lead singer Colin Hay.

*Out of Mind, Out of Sight by Models. 1985 no. 1 single here in Australia, for 2 weeks in September 1985.

*+Icarus by Sweet Jayne. Request.

*Change of Heart by Jimmy Barnes. From his 1995 album, psyclone, his 8th…produced when, in Barnes’ words, he was at the height of his alcoholism and addiction.

5 more changes of heart!

Change of Heart by Cyndi Lauper w/ The Bangles. The second single released by American singer Cyndi Lauper from her second album, True Colors in 1986. The Bangles sang back up.

Change of Heart by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. Released in February 1983 as the second single from their fifth album Long After Dark.

Change of Heart by Toto. From Isolation in 1984, their 5th studio album.

Change of Heart by Diana Ross. First track on The Force Behind the Power, her 1991 album from Motown.

Change of Heart by Eric Carmen. Request. 1978

(Wanted to play but couldn’t find) Change of Heart by The Judds. Released twice, originally in 1984 on their eponymous debut album, then again in October 1988 as the second new single from their Greatest Hits. It hit no. 1 on the country charts in 1988.
