Before becoming a mama to superstar daughter Whitney, Cissy Houston was a soul and gospel superstar in her own right during the 1970s. Having won herself two Grammy Awards along the way, she had sung background vocals for two of the biggest stars in the world, Elvis Presley and Aretha Franklin amongst others. More importantly she also scored herself a massive disco hit in 1979 with Warning-Danger.

Gwen Guthrie hailed out of Oklahoma in the USA and is most famous for her 1986 hit single, Ain’t Nothin Going On But Rent.
In 1983, Gwen teamed with Jamaican based songwriters, Sly & Robbie, who had most famously worked with Grace Jones.
The result of the collaboration was Peanut Butter that went on to be released as a single in 1983.
