On August 16 2018 Queen of Pop Madonna celebrated her 60th birthday. In a fitting tribute on Turn The Beat Around, we celebrated with an epic 4 hour show playing 36 songs that span 4 decades. We were also joined by a number of special guests to help celebrate the milestone celebration. The show is available to listen to over 4 individual podcasts.

In Podcast Part 2, we’ve got a further selection of classic Madonna songs and our special guest interview with documentary film maker Reijer Zwaan. Reijer gives us an insight into the making of his 2016 documentary film, Strike A Pose. The award winning documntary film reunited 6 of the 7 dancers from Madonna’s 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour for the first time in 25 years.

Reijer Zwaan (1981) is a journalist and filmmaker for Dutch Public Television. He works as deputy editor-in-chief for Nieuwsuur (Newshour), the main current affairs program in the Netherlands. In 2016 Reijer, along with Ester Gould, directed and produced the award winning documentary, Strike A Pose.
