/ Turn the Beat Around / Music / Nile Rodgers Tribute – The Podcast Pt1

One night in a disco on the outskirts of Frisco a man had a vision… actually it wasn’t Frisco, it was London and it wasn’t a disco, it was a Roxy Music gig circa 1973.  Nile Rodgers was in the audience witnessing the brilliance of Bryan Ferry and was so inspired that he wanted to start his own “smooth and classy funk group”. He reached out to an old bandmate, Bernard Edwards, who was back in New York and asked him to be onboard with the idea. Fast forward a few years and the end result was Chic, literally.

42 years later, Nile Rodgers is still making hit records and on this extended version of Turn The Beat Around, we celebrate the legacy of music that the musical maestro has crafted and the defining imprint that he has left on pop music culture. He has worked through the alphabet of musical acts including, Madonna, Diana Ross, Daft Punk, George Michael, Avicci, Tina Arena, Sigala, Mick Jagger and many more wait to collaborate with the guitar hero.
