THE PHILIPPINES: THE BATTLE AGAINST LGBTI BULLYING IN SCHOOLS

Asia/Pacific, News & Politics

Philippines Flag

Our time at school often frames our future – what we learn, the friends we meet, the teachers that challenge or inspire us and, in doing so, help chart our future careers or interests. But the experience is not a happy one for everyone. Bullying at school can make growing up a painful nightmare. One such place of concern is The Philippines.

Making us sit to attention in the LGBTI classroom, we were joined by Ryan Thoreson from Human Rights Watch (www.hrw.org.) – author of the report Just Let Us Be – Discrimination against LGBT students in the Philippines
