Here we view Trans issues through the eyes of an Indian born, English performance artist. This self-described “awkward” child is now an international artist whose works look at transformations, gender politics and queer culture using subversive text, cabaret and comedy.
- As a child, how did family life influence their current day activism?
- How important is the raising of Trans issues and visibility in performances?
- Outside of Midsumma, what is their special connection to Melbourne?
Bringing a funny and positive message of Trans life to Melbourne’s Midsumma Festival, we were joined by Krishna Istha – performer, live artist and theatre maker, coming to Melbourne for the Midsumma show Beast at Arts House, North Melbourne Town Hall (https://midsumma.org.au/program/beast19)
