W3JOY interviewed: Yahia Zaidi from International Lesbian and Gay Association

The lesbians are more hidden and invisible. The most visible part of the iceberg are the most feminine.

No LGBTI organisation in the region is registered.

We can’t access registration like all the other organisations. If we ask for registration, we have a lot of problems from the government…like imprisonment.

There are those who are leading double-lives. Straight in the day, but homosexual in the dark.

It’s created a lot of problems because we can’t have a bank account. We are always dependent on another organisation to do it for us.

I think the fact that I moved to Belgium was a benefit to LGBT organisations in the region.
