Harmonica

Harmonica

Today’s program features songs which utilise the harmonica. The versatile instrument evokes many moods such as the yearning, haunting sound on The Hollies’ He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother to the jaunty My Babe from blues singer, Little Walter and the growling sound of Barry McGuire on Eve Of Destruction. Prominent harmonica afficionados Bob Dylan (Mr Tambourine Man) and Stevie Wonder (I Was Made To Love Her) are also featured. And of course who can forget John Lennon’s harmonica prowess on the Beatles’ Love Me Do.
