Labels: How are young people using them?

Via Pink News: “The Trevor Project’s National Survey on LGBTQ Youth Mental Health 2019 had more than 34,000 respondents, all between the ages of 13 and 24. It showed that while 45 percent of LGBT+ youth identify as gay or lesbian, and 33 percent identify as bisexual, 22 percent said they were “’something else’”.

Erin, Sam and Leon chat about labels and how they use them in their everyday lives.

Language is always changing and evolving to describe the queer community – How can you keep up?

What if you can’t find the label that fits you yet? Hear what we have to say!

Tune in to Youth in Control live, Saturdays 4-5pm on JOY 94.9FM, or find more JOYcasts at joy.org.au.
