This week, we’re full up with guests, with a wonderful topic to discuss that is close to our hearts <3
We’re joined in the studio this week by Louis, Andrew, Ruby and Miranda from Geeks Out (Our beautiful neighboring show) to talk about our experiences as queer individuals and role playing games.
Most of our shared experience falls under playing Dungeons & Dragons, a tabletop role playing game centering around creating a character which you role play through a variety of scenarios refereed and managed by a single person, or ‘dungeon master’. The opportunity to create, explore and collaborate in a safe environment is understandably very desirable to a lot of us, so tune in and see what we have to say about role playing!

Welcome once again! Hope you’ve had a lovely week in preparation for the new edition of Triple Bi-Pass! This week, we’ve got a full studio, with Ruby joined by Alex Xand, as well as Andrew and Nat to join the discussion and shadow us!

Alex is an artist, advocate, activist, conceptual thinker, and spoken word artist, who is here to discuss the concept of ‘Apologies’. Through discussion, we explore the power behind offence, apology, understanding and tolerance, as well as how apologies affect our relationships and identities. Especially with varied and different queer identities, how do we apologize and get it right?
Thanks to Alex for such a wonderful and insightful conversation!

Ruby is delighted to be chatting to Triple BiPass returning guests Raina Peterson and Govind Pillai for their Midsumma 2019 performance. Third Nature takes the look, feel and smell of jasmine traditionally used in South Asian cultures to decorate women’s hair and marriage beds as inspiration for a dynamic contemporary work exploring the wildness of gender and the weirdness of human sexuality. The abundance of jasmine in this work reflects the liberty and wealth of pre-colonial South Asia, invoking an imagined future where this liberty and wealth is intact. In this world, classical Indian dancers Raina Peterson and Govind Pillai imagine what it might be like to inhabit bodies which have never been subjected to colonialism, binaries or shame.
Peterson and Pillai (In Plain Sanskrit, Bent Bollywood) make a heartfelt call for freedom and connection in this sensuous, riotous and celebratory work of lavish beauty and playful disarray. Get lost in a fantastical world where there are no binaries and no shame. You don’t want to miss this show!
This amazing show runs from Thu 31 Jan – Sat 2 Feb 2019. Get your tickets at: https://www.artshouse.com.au/events/third-nature

LEARN MORE Ruby is delighted to be chatting to Triple BiPass returning guests Raina Peterson and Govind Pillai for their Midsumma 2019 performance.

This week, Anthony and James are speaking to two of our favorite artists, Caleb Darwent and Clareo!
Caleb Darwent is a non-binary, transfeminine, queer feminazi with a gay agenda. They are a writer of poetry and prose, and one half of musical theatre writing duo Darwent & Gray. Their work combines the comedic with the dramatic and deals with the realities of living life as a queer legend/icon/star.
Clareo is a transdisciplinary artist. Though her foundations are in the visual arts she has also performed in theater, circus and more recently, poetry. They lyrically, rhythmically and emphatically weaves tales of her experiences as a bisexual with a disability, into and against, frameworks that challenge her. Clareo revels in the quirkiness of being queer, hence queering up the arts in her first experience as curator for Periphery No More.
We talk about queering up the art scene, experiences are queer artists and some of the amazing projects both Caleb and Clareo are working on! We also chat about some of the exciting Bi+ news going on, including our new pick for a favorite tv show, ‘The Bisexual’.

Described as a “Doozy” by our very own Jenifer, this week, we’re bringing you a discussion on what happens when Bi+ characters make the transition from comic books to film or television!

In the studio alongside Jenifer is award winning writer Rafif Ismail! Rafif is also an activist and advocate with years of experiences in community services with culturally and linguistically diverse communities working to create accessible spaces for marginalized youth.

Expect a LONG discussion on Valkyrie’s move from comic book to her portrayal by Bi actor Tessa Thompson Thor: Ragnarok, Deadpool, Wonder Woman and sooooo much more. Alongside these, Rafif and Jenifer also talk about queer representations in comics and film, coding as queer and the ways that Bi+ characters are too often erased.
