2008 Wrap
Leading up to the resumption of business for state and federal parliaments, Addam and Peter talk to two people who were instrumental in brining important social issues into parliament, Neal Frances From “Dying with Dignity†and Leslie Cannold a pro-choice advocate for Abortion. The issue that comes out in this show is that Members of governments have a huge responsibility to bring change with thoughtful consideration. The huge number of very deep issues that have been debated in the Victorian State Parliament may lead to “Social Fatigueâ€. This may explain why the wind went out of the sails for the Dying with Dignity Bill, it came on the heels of the Abortion Bill, and the Assisted Reproduction Bill, all issues which brought a lot of community angst. Allegro will interview some politicians in 2009 to explore this situation.
