Corey Irlam, Spokesperson for the Australian Coalition for equality, was one of the key people who lobbied politicians around the county for federal law reforms for same sex attracted people.

This has come to fruition and there are a raft of law reforms that acknowledge equal rights. All through the process the community strongly supported these changes.
Now that they have gone through, it appears that some people getting welfare payments may loose part of their income. Equal means equal, and people in same sex relationships will be assessed now under exactly the same criteria as people in heterosexual relationships.
