What have we seen lately ?

Film : Elysium : I really wanted to like this more than I did, because it had a great cast including Jodie Foster and Matt Damon (with a shaved head, yummy!), and it looked real good, but once again, another film let down by a just okay story. It started off well, with a sci-fi plot, but then it turned into a chase ‘em and shoot ‘em down film. Mindless stuff, which I can sometimes accept, but not with this budget and cast.

Show : Singing In The Rain : Another great musical from Jeannie Pratt’s Production Company, lord love her. Not that the plot matters, cos it’s just another love story, but it was about the changeover from silent movies to the talkies, and in particular an actress with a dreadful voice, ok in the silent films but not so good in the talkies. Anyway, hilarity ensues and they all burst into song. A good time was had by all, and the season was a sell-out so they put on another performance at 11am on a Sunday morning. I know!
