Welcome to A TOUCH OF PINK. It’s been a good week for new releases, and I’m also excited by the knowledge that there are some amazing Christmas albums due in this year, starting with our first track One More Sleep from the Leona Lewis album “Christmas With Love”. We can also look forward to “A Mary Christmas” from Mary J Blige, the “Wilde Winter Songbook” from Kim Wilde, “Snow Globe” from Erasure, and hot off the record presses, Kelly Clarkson with “Wrappped In Red”, all of which would be worthy additions to your collection. I can particularly recommend Mary J Blige’s sublime duet with Barbra Streisand on “When You Wish upon A Star”.

Other great tracks tonight include the second track from Cher’s Closer To The Truth album, which started out as a ballad, lots of girlie tracks from Taylor Swift, Noelia, Vassy, D’Manti and a new UK girl trio called Goodbye Charlie. We also have 3 re-jigs of tracks from long long ago … who remembers Night Fever, Get Up And Boogie and Hot Stuff? Well, tonight we have some great new versions..And talking of boybands (who, me?) Shane Filan from Westlife has a new track out from his soon to be released solo album You And Me.

There are currently 3 amazing albums around at the moment, all very classy ….firstly Cher’s “Closer To The Truth”, secondly Tina Arena’s “Reset” and lastly The Saturday’s “Living For The Weekend”. They are all chock full of great tracks, they all have great to amazing voices, and they should all be in your collection. Please don’t let us down. Just kidding, but they are all really really good, and we are just going to have to wait until early 2014 for the Mutya/Keisha/Siobhan release. Fingers crossed it really comes out.

Single Of The Week is “Physical” by Le Kid from Sweden, cos they are cute and full of spunk. You gotta love that.

What have we seen lately ?

Film : Alan Partridge Alpha Papa

It may help if you have followed the Steve Coogan character from his various TV series, but it won’t stop you enjoying this very funny (and very British) movie. It concerns a digital radio station, and there are staff cuts in the air. One DJ gets given his notice, has a breakdown, and decides to hold the station hostage. Alan Partridge is given the job of acting as a go-between between the police and the sacked DJ. This leads to a lot of witty banter and slapstick. Loved it!
