Welcome to another Touch Of Pink. The new stuff is starting to flow, so great new, or newish tracks from Beyonce, Dirty Vegas, Erasure, Juanes, Foxes, Feathers and Jennifer Hudson.

Single Of The Week is “La Luz” by Juanes. There is so much latin musc around, and only a little gets to oz, which is a shame cos it’s such fun. Ricky Martin does some latin style music, but there is so much more. Try this to start off …  it’s very catchy and he’s got a nice smile.

Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in to us this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from  7pm for 26 tracks in 2 hours (yes, we know!). Your hosts are Dennis and Dick.

What Have We Seen ThIs Week ?

Movie : Kill Your Darlings : Interesting movie about the early formative life of Allen Ginsberg, when he met Jack Kerouac, Lucien Carr etc. starring Daniel Radcliffe (yes, he does kiss a man and more). While it’s not entirely successful, it does provide another piece in the Allen Ginsberg jigsaw. Try getting copy of the Howl DVD with James Franco for another piece.

Movie : The Guilded Cage : If you liked the movie The Women on the 6th Floor, you’ll love this. Set in Paris, it revolved around a family of Portuguese immigrants who worked as concierge’s in various apartment complexes. One comes into an inheritance, and complications and much hilarity ensues as they try to keep it quiet. It’s a sweet movie and has a feelgood ending. Loved it.

Midsumma Show : Thank You For Being A Friend : A wonderful puppet production (similar to Avenue Q) as they recreate an episode of The Golden Girls, complete with 80’s ads, theme music and an updated plot (concerning gay men and surrogate babies). Fans of the show will love this loving homage, beautifully performed with a very witty script, based on original programmes. Highly recommended.

Exhibition : Spectacle, The Music Videos : I finally caught up with this wonderful exhibition which takes you through the history of musical videos from the 1920’s through to today, but if you haven’t seen it yet, it closes on 23rd Feb at ACMI. There are some wonderful displays of some 80’s bad hair tragics, montages of those copycat videos (Beyonce’s Single Girls And Gotye’s Somebody That I used To Know), plus special displays of Bjork in 3D, Aha’s Take On Me and scores of others. My favourite was a special production of Bonnie Tyler’s Total Eclipse Of The Heart (literal video version – see below).

Dick’s Top 5 Videos For The Week

JLS Billion Lights (their swansong)

Foxes  Let’s go for tonight (another beauty from Great Britain)

Avicii ft Adam Lambert Lay me down (from Hungary)

Plus 2 I forgot from last week

Demi Lovato Let it go (last week’s Single Of The Week from the movie “Frozen”)

Monarchy ft Dita Von Teese  Disintegration

(stunning, as we’d expect, a Cecil B Demille production with tasteful nudity …

… TURN IT UP and make it FULL SCREEN … )

That’s your lot ….. now sashay away …
