Welcome to my Touch Of Pink blog page. I’m starting to get the hang of this 1-hour show, so this week I’ve picked quite a few gays, and a few divaz, so you know where my taste is at.

My Single Of The Week is “Children Of The Universe” by Molly, and it’s actually the UK Eurovision song entrant, and it’s quite good in a Bonnie Tyler way, so you never know, gotta give ‘em points for trying.

Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in to us this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from  6-7pm for a dozen fab-u-lous tracks. Your host is Dick.

What Have I Seen ThIs Week ?

Comedy Festival: Julian Clary: He looked a bit tired during the first half of the show, as if he was having trouble firing up. Fortunately for the second half, where he corralled half a dozen men on stage, entrants in his contest to find a husband, he seemed to hit his stride. Lots of humorous occurrences as the entrants answered questions or performed in a talent quest, but it did seem a bit lacklustre. We’ll blame it on a long flight, eh?

3 out of 5

Film: The Invisible Woman: This was a gorgeously presented British costume drama about Charles Dickens and his not so secret 18 year old mistress. His wife was not impressed, but it was all very tastefully performed, although it was fairly slowly paced, but for fans of the genre this was very good stuff.

3 ½ out of 5

Film: Only Lovers Left Alve: For fans of vampire movies, this was something very different. It covered a couple of weeks in the life of two vampires played wonderfully by Tilda Swinton and Tom Hiddleston. Another fairly slow movie, but as the story gradually emerged, about their hobbies, lifestyle and the search for blood, it was a sensuous and subtle journey. Hard to describe but for fans of vampires and director Jim Jarmusch it was a delicious treat.

Dick’s Top 5 Videos For The Week

John Barrowman: What about us? (such a beautiful video, with a straight & gay theme)

Five Knives: The Rising (sleazy punk rock with attitude)

Ellie Goulding: Beating heart (such a great song)

Julie Bergan: Younger (cool and funky from Norway)

Ruth Lorenzo: Dancing in the rain (Spanish Eurovision entry, man in wet shirt alert)

Note: There won’t be A Touch Of Pink next week, but don’t worry because Michael will be hosting a two hour Eurovision Babble Pop Spectacular from 6-8pm instead. Enjoy !

That’s your lot ….. now sashay away …
