Show 477 / 14 June 2014
Welcome to my Touch Of Pink blog page. Another mix of mostly new tracks, plus a few camp items just for fun. I particularly like Jane Mc McDonald’s take on the Engelbert Humperdinck hit from 1973.
My Single Of The Week is ‘Young Hearts’ by Aussie band Strange Talk. This was not an official single release over here, but in view of the favourable reviews in America, the track has been released over there with remixes. It’s a nice bit of indietronica with some hippy dancing in the video. Catchy. Watch it below …
Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in to us this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from 6-7pm for a bakers dozen of fab-u-lous tracks. Your host is Dick.

What Have I Seen ThIs Week ?
Film: Gardening With Soul : Every once in a while you need to just see a nice fillum. And this was it for me. A documentary about a NZ nun, one of the Sisters of Compassion. She has been tending the large gardens of their home for many, many years, and is still out there every day, weeding, planting etc, and she turned 90 during the making of the documentary. She talks about her philosophy of life and gardening. Basically just be nice to each other, and have fun in the garden. 2 hours of sheer joy. Not for everyone, but for something different …

Show : Celtic Thunder : Imagine a singing version of Riverdance, not so much dancing … 5 cute young Irish guys singing their little hearts out. A bit of rock (The boys are back in town), a few standards (Danny Boy), and numerous Irish classics, backed by the pipes, violins, a harp and other assorted instruments. More a middle aged ladies event, but still a nice night out, and great voices. Then they came out and did an encore in their kilts … nice legs too!
