Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home for all that is fun and a little bit pink in the world of trash pop music. So much new and interesting stuff coming out which bodes well for the new year. I particularly love Aaron Smith, Mary J Blige, Lisa Fox,, well, all of them this week, actually. Even the Elvis remix is a cracking good track.

My Single Of The Week is ‘Without You’ by Slow Knights. Slow Knights is Del Marquis from Scissor Sisters plus a cast of NYC-based musicians. For this release – which is coming out through Bright Light Bright Light’s label – Slow Knights is also Rod Thomas, who takes joint lead vocals alongside Bridget Barkan.

What have I seen lately?

FILM: Paddington: Mum and I went to see this kid’s flick and we both loved it. A simple enough story about a marmalade loving young bear coming to England,after his home in Peru is destroyed, searching for someone to adopt him. So he embarks on a wonderful adventure full of lots of laughs but also a comment on how we treat outsiders. Very enjoyable.

FILM : Annie : I cannot tell a lie, I love a good musical, and this one was a great re-invention of the show/film in an urban milieu, and a very catchy r&b sound track. The humour was very current, and the hunt for a kidnapped Annie all over New York was done over twitter. LOL.
