Welcome to A Brave New Year and the same old A Touch Of Pink, your home for all that is fun and a little bit pink in the world of trash pop music. So much new and interesting stuff coming out for 2015 including The Ting Tings, Madonna (who she?), Marlon Roudette and Dragpalace (a drag artiste from The Netherlands who can actually sing well!).

My Single Of The Week is ‘Tightrope’ by Matt Alber (see above). Matt is a gay man from the USA with a gorgeous voice reminiscent of Rufus Wainwright. He tends to sings ballads, but this song came out last year in remixed form, which I love. But I have also included below the video for a more recent song called Handsome Man which is more representative of his musical output. So please check out his websiie and give him a listen. I’m sure you’ll be as impressed as I was.

What have I seen lately?

FILM: St Vincent : Another wonderful Bill Murray movie about a down but not quite out man man who becomes the unlikely/unwilling babysitter for the young lad who moves in next door with his mother. Of course, all is not what it seems and there is a lot of depth in these characters as their individual stories unfold. A beautifully made and extremely well written film. Highly recommended.
