Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home site for a look at the fun side of modern pop. Tonight some great new tracks from Mika, Syd Duran vocalist for EDM Valora), Jane Badler, the divine Miss M, Stereolove, Disclosure and Ryan Skyy, plus recent favourites from Take That, Leona Lewis, Nathan Sykes (from the Wanted), and a double from Giorgio Moroder (he’s da bomb). Another great selection if I do say so myself.

My Song Of The Week is “Diamonds” Giorgio Moroder featuring Charlie XCX. I have loved the work of Giorgio Moroder from when he first produced Donna Summer’s Love To Love You Baby way back in 1975, and I’ve been a fan ever since. His career stared before that though, and he has kept himself busy in the music world ever since. The latest album captures the brilliance of his ability to make current and relevant pop music today as well as he did back on his first single in 1972. His collaboration with Charlie XCX is as good as any of the others on his new album Déjà Vu. Respect is due! Below is the audio track.

What have I seen at the theatre/multiplex lately?

FILM : Woman In Gold : A little slow, but it’s always wonderful to see Helen Mirren on screen. This time the plot revolves around a woman getting back a famous painting of her aunt, pinched by the Nazis during WW2 and now in the possession of an Austrian art gallery. Little people against big institutions and guess who wins?

FILM : Spy : Melissa McCarthy is very good as the CIA spy who finally gets her chance to shine on an actual case, to foil a plot where someone is planning to buy an atom bomb. Not much a plot but who cares when they have such a great comic actress, and a wonderful supporting cast. One just for the fun of it.

FILM : Jurassic World : The best thing about this film is Chris Pratt, such a great actor. But seriously the first 1½ hours of the film sets the scene for the last ½ hour of action. The action when it gets going is pretty good, but it’s a long wait.
