I have a particular fondness for ccovers and there are 3 great examples tonight: Alcazar’s cover of Wham’s Young Guns and DJ Shpank’s cover of the Bangles Walk Like An Egyptian are over-the-top camp workouts, but Felix Jaehn and Jasmine Thompson do are very tasteful house reworking of Chaka Khan’s Ain’t Nobody

My Song Of The Week is “If I Could Change Your Mind” by American 3 piece girl band Haim. This is the fifth single from their debut album, and the Cerrone Funk mix takes it to that higher level. It’s a beautiful song and the vocals are sublime. Check it out below.

What have I seen at the theatre/multiplex lately?

FILM : The Mafia Only Kills In Summer : An unusual little film, following a young boy as he grows up and falls in love, in Sicily from the 70’s to the 90’s. It follows the progress of the mafia, as it gains power, and then as the people rise up against it and the leaders are all prosecuted. A fascinating film told through one man’s eyes.
