Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home site for a look at the fun side of modern pop.

I will be off air for 2015 grid 3, from July to September, but I will be back in October. In the meantime John from Parralox will be presenting his own fabulous selection of electro pop tracks. It should be fun so keep listening in the 6-7pm slot Saturday nights on Joy 949.

Tonight more great new tracks including quite a few gay artists : Ryan Amador, Prides, Guenna LG, Parralox, Peter Wilson, BLx2 and the gorgeous Will Young. Plus classy selections from Hurts (see featured image on the date banner) and Foxes.

My Song Of The Week is “Higher Love” by UK 3 piece indietronica band (see above). They are from Glascow and an album called The Way Back Up is due out this month. In a similar vein to Years and Years, Chvrches etc, catchy tunes and a great sound. The video (below) set in an oldies pub bingo session is fun.

What have I seen at the theatre/multiplex lately?

FILM : Far From The Madding Crowd : A beautiful remake of Thomas Hardy’s classic novel set in Victorian England, starring Carey Mulligan, and the gorgeous Mathias Schoenaerts. It’s full of love and tragedy as 3 men fight for Carey’s affection and a backdrop of stunnig British countryside. What more can you ask for? Top marks.

FILM : Ted 2 : Don’t expect too much and you probably won’t be disappointed. A sequal to Ted, as the loveable Teddy Bear finds love and tries to marry and have kids, but the government decides he is not a person. So he goes to court. If you like Family Guy and Seth McFarlane etc you are bound to find this entertaining. Not great but okay.
