Show 518 / 24 October 2015
Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home site for a look at the fun side of modern pop.
There’s a lot of great tracks tonight, some trash and some treasure, and a fabulous disco medley from Marcia Hines and Brendan Maclean (see above picture). Plus new songs from Little Mix, Take That, those crazy Swedes Gravitonas, Melbourne’s own Lucie M, and the UK X-Factor winner from 2014. Well, tell me how you can put a show together without a musical reality show contestant or two ????
My Song Of The Week is “This Love” by Nicki French. It’s been out a while but it is a gay as track and the video is a paeon to marriage equality, so everyone should buy a copy of the track have a look at the video. See below.
Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from 6-7pm for a bakers dozen of fab-u-lous tracks. Your host is Dick.

What have I seen at the theatre/multiplex lately?
FILM : Black Mass: Starring a virtually unrecognisable Johnny Depp as a Boston gang lord in the 80’s. It shows in graphic detail his criminal career and the corrupt police acitivities. It eventually leads to his downfall. Not a pretty film, and not a nice man, but a gripping portrayal nonetheless.
FILM : Legend : Like the above Black Mass, this is a film about the gangsters who ran London’s underworld for a while in the 60’s. The Kray twins we likewise not very nice people. They paid everyone off and ,anaged to avoid capture for a while but were eventually outwitted by the police. This film however shows a reverence for the 60’s, great fashions, some wonderful music and gorgeously nostalgic scenes filmed in various upmarket clubs. It is also filmed from the viewpoint of Reggie Kray’s eventual wife and features her commentary during the film. I enjoyed it.
