Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home site for a look at the fun gay side of modern pop.

Another interesting mix, featuring a few oldies (Mylene Farmer, Andy Bell (see above), Chaka Khan, Michael Franti?), a few newbies (Snakehips, Final DJs) and some classics (Hot Chip, Robin Thicke, Lady GaGa). Plus some gays to liven it up.

My Song Of The Week is “Our Spaceboy” from dance act Eurotix. They are Swedish retro electro pop duo featuring out gay artist Dennis Alexis The video uses clips from the 1960’s movie Space Men (aka Assignment: Outer Space). The track is from their album Deux, and you could easily get an 80’s flashback listening to this. It’s worth a listen, and the track has a bittersweet gay theme. Our speceboy doesn’t like spacegirls, our spaceboy is lonely. Ahhh !!!

What have I seen this week ???

Show: God Of Carnage by the Peridot Theatre

Another wonderful performance of the play, then a film, now a play again, about 2 sets of parents who meet to discuss the matter of one boy hitting and hurting another boy. The civilized discussion turns nasty very quickly, but the dialogue is clever and hilarious, and an honourable mention to the special effects person for the vomit scene. The cast were universally excellent. Worth seeing, and only in Mount Waverley for another couple of weeks.
