Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home site for a look at the fun side of modern pop. I’ll be filling in for the Fender Bender team from 4-5pm Saturdays for the Summer Grid.

A few slower songs today, a few Christmassy songs plus nearly half the artists are artists, and the retro electro pop trend shows no sign of abating … fortunately we like it a lot.

It’s hard to pick a standout track cos they are all wonderful, however old favourites Marc Almond and Take That (see above) are still around doing great things, so thanks to them for persevering and providing some great entertainment over the years.

My Song Of The Week is “Your love” by Divine Knights (see picture on previous page). They are an openly gay band from Sydney, and they have made a nice catchy electro pop track with a very stylish black and white video. Check it out at the bottom of the page.

What have we seen around town this week ?

Movie : At The Heart Of The Sea

I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it turns out the whaling industry was pretty brutal back in the early 1820’s. Ths film is based on the original real life story which was re-written as the novel Moby Dick. So I didn’t enjoy the part about the hunt and killing of whales, and the rest of the plot was about the crew getting shipwrecked. The CGI effects were good but overalI I thought it a bit average.
