Show 534 / 13 February 2016
Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home site for a look at the gay fun side of trash pop.
Some great new tracks from UK pop diva-in-waiting Florrie, Beyonce, Missy Elliott (see picture above), Peter Wilson (b-side to his new single that I played last week), Sigala ft Imani and DJ Fresh, plus a host of other goodies, and 5 with GLBTIQ content.
My Song Of The Week is “Ego” from Willy William. He is a French, Jamaican born, DJ and producer who has been around on the music scene since 2003, but mainly producing for other people. But now this song has come along, and very catchy it is too, with a touch of the Rocky Martin’s, and a very celebratory sound. Plus the video is very clever. See below.
Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from 4-5pm for a bakers dozen of fab-u-lous tracks. Your host is Dick.

What have we seen around town this week ?
FILM : Room : I haven’t been this tense in a movie for years. It’s the one about the schoolgirl kidnapped and kept in a room, forced to have sex, then she delivers a child. The movie starts 7 years later, and centres mainly on her relationship with the boy. Although the subject is very
FILM : The Importance Of Being Earnest : Another brilliant film presentation of a stage production, from the Vaudeville Theatre in London, starring David Suchet (Inspector Poirot) as Lady Bracknell. It’s a classic play from Oscar Wilde, biting dialogue, and uniformly excellent performances.
SHOW : Two And Two Together : The latest from the Peridot Theatre in Mount Waverley, a play from UK writer Derek Benfield, and a typical British farce. It concerns two couples, one of who is meeting one of the other in secret, and the other partner is meeting someone else in the other couple’s home. Naturually things go wrong when people come home early, and the nosey neighbourhood watch representative comes calling. Good fun and excellent acting (perhaps a little overacting at times).
SHOW : Nick Offerman Goes The Full Bush : Husband of Megan Mullaly, humorist and carpenter, and actor on Parks and Recreation, this is a solo show with some music (on guitar and home made ukelele) and much discussion of going “the full bush” in life. He’s a funny guy, and has a lot to say on the social media and advbertising , though not in a good way, but funny nonetheless.
Dick’s Top 3 Videos
Beyonce : Formation (make up your own mind)
Florrie : Real Love (sweet and pure)
Missy Elliott : Pep Rally (audio only)
