Lots more GLBTIQ artists to showcase tonight, over half of tonight’s music, plus some retro and high energy gems.

I’m a bit into electro swing at the moment, so I love the new song from Sean Paul called Outta Control. There are also appearances from some more mature acts: Mary Wilson (ex-Supreme teams up with San Fransisco producer Paul Brewer for a powerhouse tune, while 80’s popsters Information Society have a new album out with some great covers and new material. There is also an ABBA remix of a lesser know track. So don’t forget to tune in.

My Song Of The Week is “Tonight (Matt Pop mix)” from Candy Apple Blue featuring Matt Bramlett. They are a GLBTIQ-friendly electropop band from the USA, they can write a catchy tune and they got a Matt Pop mix of their new single. How good is that? Check out the video below.

What have we seen around town this week ?

Film : Wide Open Sky : I cannot recommend this film highly enough. It’s a documentary about a wonderful woman who, for the past 10 years, has organised a temporary choir of school children, in remote rural New South Wales, gathering the top 130 students for a 3-day workshop, then a concert for family and friends etc with a small orchestra. The excitement and energy of the kids is truly inspirational. Possibly the best documentary I have ever seen. See trailer below.

Film : Labyrinth Of Lies : A different take on the holocaust, the film centres on a German Prosecutor in the early 1950’s, ex-who follows a lead to charge an ex-SS officer with murder for his actions in Auschwitz during WW2. After WW2 the Germans turned a blind eye to the Nazis still living in Germany. Only 150 had been charged with crimes in the Nurenberg Trials, but this was the beginning of Germans charging other Germans with war crimes. A very interesting film made on a small budget, but worth considering.
