Welcome back to another two hours of A Touch Of Pink, your show for tracks with a pop trash / gay / remix flavour. This week I’ll be playing a few more covers (I’m only sleeping, Heaven must have sent you back to me, Pure shores, Boogie Wonderland, You should be dancing and Obsession), remixes/remodels (Enough is enough, Smalltown Boy) and some interesting newies from Ed Sheran, the two gorgeous Jonas Brothers (separately), Yonee, Ricky Martin and Delta, the iconic Cerrone, and a very catchy song from JP Cooper. It may be summer but there’s lots of good listening right here on Joy 94.9.

My Song Of The Week is ‘September Song” by JP Cooper. He is a newish UK singer with an instantly catchy song. It’s a bit of an ear-worm for me, but it peaked at No.16 in the UK charts and that’s about it. Have a listen and see what you think. I think it could have gone places …

What have we seen around town this week ?

Movie : Red Dog : I loved the original film, and although this prequel is more of a kid’s film, the scenery, the light plot and the characters make for a lovely 90 minutes viewing. Not amazing, but a nice family friendly film.

Movie : Sing : Very cute animated feature (populated by animals) about a theatre owner, whose business is floundering, decides to put on a talent show. Naturally, everything conspires against him, but finale show is wonderful, funny, uplifting etc. Very American, but there’s some great laughs and some great singing.

Movie : Passengers : SIightly creepy space movie, about a 120 year flight to populate a new planet. All the passengers are in suspended animation, but during a meteor shower one person (Chris Pratt) gets woken up. He in turn wakes up someone else for company. The film looks wonderful, but there’s some clunky dialogue towards the end, but then you get to look at the buff Chris Pratt for two hours. Plus there is Michael Sheen’s wonderful cameo as Arthur, the robot bartender. Go see it for the journey rather than the slightly unsatisfactory ending.
