Welcome to another episode of A Touch Of Pink, your one stop shop for GLBTI pop, tracks with a fresh chart sound. The years is off to a slow start with new releases, so a few recent tracks, but still pretty good ones, and a very different version of Tainted Love from Soft Cell’s front man, Marc Almond along with Jools Holland, plus couple of oldies from Dusty Springfield (remixed) and Divine (not remixed).

Track Of The Week : “Sometimes” from Cub Sport.Great new song from this Brisbane band, catchy light dance music, nice tune. Band members Tim and Sam were married last year, and their self titled album is now out, so lots going on for the band.

REVIEWS : What Have I Seen Recently?

Film : Mary Queen Of Scots : I love a good historical drama, and though I was a bit apprehensive, this one turned out to be pretty good. It looked wonderful, great costumes, wonderful scenery of the Scottish highlands , and who knew that Mary’s second husband was a sodomite? I certainly didn’t. So, an all-round interesting film.

Film : Green Book : Another wonderful film, and this one had the feel-good factor. About the relationship that develops between an African-American concert pianist, and the help hired to be his body guard and drive him down the southern states in the 70’s, when African-Americans had segregated restaurants and hotels. A beautiful story based on a real life friendship. It’s nice to come out of a theatre with a warm feeling inside.
