Song Of The Week: K FLAY with Good News :
Great American indie artist with a new album (Solutions) and ten very varied tracks. I picked Good News because it’s a cute indietronica track thats fits in well with this show, but give the album a listen and you’re bound to find something you like. Excellent!
Here follows tonight’s playlist. Tune in this Saturday on JOY 94.9 from 5-6 pm for a whole heap (as many as we can get through) of Aussie GLBTI tracks. Your host will be Dick.
Playlist for Show 642 to be broadcast on 20th July 2019

What I’ve Seen This Week :
SHOW : COME FROM AWAY : At last this wonderful new show has arrived in Australia (I saw it a couple of years ago on Broadway), but this production really sparkles and it’s full of energy. The audience all stood up to applaud at the ednd, which is something you rarely see here. It follows the small town of Gander, population 10,000 (in Newfoundland, Canada) where 300+ planes with 7,000 passengers land when the American borders shut due to the Twin Towers being demolished on 9/112/2001. It’s very uplifting show about how the local inhabitants and the stranded travellers learn to live together for 5 days, until their flights can resume. The songs are great, catchy, uplifting with a quirky Canadian humour, and the music is a mix of country pop/ Celtic. It also features two gay characters, Kevin & Kevin, boyfriends. I’d recommend this to almost everyone, because it’s not your typical Broadway/West End musical, it’s got real humour and heart. And I’m not getting paid for this review!
