Song Of The Week: Predator from ONIQ, a local (British born Melbourne based) indie rapper with a new single. This is a power rap track , with a story of abuse and predators in the clubs.

What I’ve Been To See This Week:

Film : Dark Waters:

Based on a 2016 article in the NY Times “The Lawyer Who Became DuPont’s Worst Nightmare”, you know this gonna be another Erin Brockovich type story where the little guy takes on a big player. It’s centred on a farmer who’s cattle are dying because of liquids the DuPont company is releasing into the water. Not exactly a happy ending, but a very powerful movie that may leave you feeling a little depressed at the end. But worth seeing nonetheless.

Film: The Lighthouse

About halfway through you know there isn’t gonna be a happy ending, but this is an engrossing film about 2 men on an island in a lighthouse for a month or more, going stir crazy, and I mean really crazy. With William Dafoe and Robert Pattinson as you’ve never seen him before, with and without clothing, this is obviously a niche film, and if you like Midsommar you’ll probably enjoy this. Possibly …. PS It’s in black & white, so very arthouse.

Film: Motherless Brooklyn

This is a film that I can recommend to everyone. It’s a wonderful thriller about corrupt government officials in NYC evicting slum tenants to provide land for developing. Lead actor Edward Norton gives a stunning performance as a private investigator with Tourette’s Syndrome searching for the killer of his mentor, then getting in way over his head.
