Song Of The Week: ‘Surabaya Johnny’ by Rufus Wainwright. Perhaps a controversial choice, and at 52 he could possibly be called a rainbow elder. His first album was released in 1998 and the latest, I’m a Stranger Here Myself: The Songs Of Kurt Weill is his 22nd. His music has ranged from indie, pop, classical, and now tribute albums, he has also done a re-creation of Judy Garlands’ Carnegie Hall concert. His voice and popularity are as strong as ever and I am proud to champion his work.
