Welcome to A Touch Of Pink, your home site for a look at the fun side of modern pop, a little bit gay and a little bit cheesy, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. Tonight is a mixed bag, but it includes some great remixes from Taylor Swift, Jess Glynnes, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Carly Rae Jepsen and not forgetting the TWO Minogue sisters … separately.

My Single Of The Week is ‘Kiss all the bullies goodbye’ by Sir Ivan featuring Taylor Dayne. Sir Ivan (see above) is a rather eccentric American character, also know as Peaceman, and his Peaceman Foundation helps troubled GLBTQ youth with suicidal tendencies. Worth checking out, and the video is worth a look, where the bullies get sorted out.

What have I seen at the theatre/multiplex lately?

Film : Big Eyes : This is another over those top Tim Burton films, based on the true story of the woman who painted kids with big sad eyes back in the 60’s. It is about how the woman met her 2^nd husband, and how he gradually made an empire out of these paintings and claimed that he painted them himself. Eventually she stands up for herself and reclaims her rights to the pictures, and then the fun begins … the fights, the bad behaviour and finally the trial. The drama turns into a highly enjoyable farce.

Film : MQFF : The 10 year plan : Another highly enjoyable American rom-com. The premise is that two gay boys agree to meet in 10 years time (when they are 35, obviously very old in gay years), and if they are still single, then they will hook together. It is a very light and fluffy film, but their two best straight friends are so sweet, and they have some of the funniest lines in the film. For a fun night out, nothing too deep, this was just what you might need.

Film : MQFF : Jamie Marks Is Dead : The setting is a high school, and after one of the students has been bullied he is found dead. His ghost becomes visible to a couple of the students, one of whom wants to help him cross over to the other side to find peace. This was definitely interesting but not entirely successful. Apart from the two leads, some of the acting left a bit to be desired. But good on them for getting this film made.
